Despite seeing his own position threatened by recent reports, Blades stopper Steve Simonsen confirms that the players are 100% behind manager Micky Adams.

‘On the training ground everyone is united and remaining positive that we can get out of this mess” Simonsen said. “We need that positive result to come sooner rather than later, then who knows what could happen.”

And the Blades stopper has praised the character that Adams has brought to the club, with his passion for United.

‘The players are behind the manager without doubt. Since he came through the door he has been fantastic, he shows what this club means to him and that will wash out on the players who know they have underperformed this season. Individually we admit that.

We owe it to the manager and the fans to make sure this club doesn’t get relegated because it doesn’t deserve to drop out of the Championship.

The Gaffer is whole hearted and passionate and that must rub off on the players to improve performances on the pitch.’
