Sheffield United have reportedly declared an interest in Irish full-back Seamus Conneely.

The Galway United player, who can play in either defence or midfield has been capped by Ireland’s U21 team, as well as a number of other levels, and could be on his way to Bramall Lane.

United, who have already agreed a deal for St Pats’ David McAllister appear to be targetting the Irish market, a possible link to their partnership with Arklow Town, which has seen a handful of youngsters join the Blades academy.

Whether there’s any substance to the story that is being reported by the Daily Mail is yet to be seen, but it’s one to keep an eye out for as the Blades look to rebuild on a more strict budget.
