Sheffield United supporters have shown magnificent loyalty once again, with the Blades averaging over the 20,000 mark for the season.

Fewer than 8000 were needed in the ground today for the Blades to have a season average over the two thirds mark, and with a healthy 22,366 it ensured United comfortably made it over the landmark stage.

And with 10,000 season tickets sold for next season, United could boast one of the highest crowds in League 1, alongside city neighbours Sheffield Wednesday. Chief-Executive Trevor Birch said of next season`s sales:

‘It will be a journey for the fans, staff and players alike. We have renewed 10,000 season tickets which is a fantastic expression of support for Sheffield United FC and those supporters, together with our regular match attendees, will be at the core of the rejuvenation of this great club.’
