It`s cuts galore at Bramall Lane as the Blades prepare for life in League 1. However, whilst a number of first-team players who have contributed to the downfall of the club will be looking elsewhere for a place if they can be sold, it`s believed almost twenty backroom staff will also have to be removed from the budget.

On the field, long-term injury absentee Ryan France will leave the club when his contract runs out, whilst the only other senior pro out of contract is Rob Kozluk. The experienced full-back has only played a minor role this season, and it`s unknown whether he will be offered a new deal.

However, the big names at the club are all still under contract but are saleable assets who are likely to bring the required cuts to the budget, Darius Henderson has revealed his desire to remain a Blades player for the final year of his deal, but his £15,000+ per week makes this highly unlikely.

Player of the year Stephen Quinn will have impressed potential buyers in recent weeks, whilst Ched Evans is also likely to appeal based on his reputation as a youngster alone. Jamie Ward looks likely to make his loan at Derby County permanent, and fellow winger Mark Yeates, and striker Daniel Bogdanovic will be joining him out of the exit door.

Longest serving player Nick Montgomery has been touted as a possible signing for hometown club Leeds United, but rumours from people in the know suggest Neil Warnock could look to take him as a replacement for the ageing Shaun Derry.

Of the numerous loan players at the club, only Shane Lowry is likely to be offered a permanent deal, but even this is looking highly unlikely with the potential return of Chris Morgan, and the emergence of Harry Maguire and Matt Lowton as contenders for a central defensive role.

Many teams, including ones in this region will be announcing their released players as early as Monday, and it’s unlikely the Blades will leave it much later.
