Sheffield United could be set to steal West Brom defender Leon Barnett from under the nose of Championship rivals Coventry City.
Barnett, who appeared to be heading for the Ricoh Arena could now be making a last minute U-turn, and heading for Bramall Lane, as the Blades look to bolster their defensive options.
With Andy Taylor joining Marcel Seip and Gary Naysmith on the treatment table, and Matt Kilgallon joining Premier League Sunderland, it leaves the Blades struggling at the back, with just Chris Morgan and Jonathan Fortune in central defence.
It looked as though the Sky Blues would be the favourites for the player, following a short loan spell earlier in the season.
