Suggestions that the Blades were venturing across the Atlantic for pre season have been quashed by United manager Kevin Blackwell who doesn’t want to lose ‘Valuable training time’ travelling during pre season.
The other worry of Blackwell’s was the pitches, ‘We found out the games would be played on Astroturf. We don’t play on plastic so i cancelled it.’
This is bold move by Blackwell and one that not many people would take. Kevin McCabe would have seen this as an ideal marketing trip to expand into North America but Kevin Blacwell’s choice shows he’s more focused on the club expanding on the pitch, rather than off it.

2nd August: 12p.m
First Team Away v Huddersfield Town
The reserves/academy team will travel to Stamford (19th July) Matlock (5th August) and Bradford Park Avenue (13th August)
