Having secured the loan services of Tommy Doyle from Manchester City, Sheffield United boss, Paul Heckingbottom, has turned his attention to another potential season-long loan deal in the shape of former West Bromwich Albion striker, Tyler Roberts, from Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.

According to MOT Leeds News, the Blades could face stiff competition for his signature with Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers and Hull City thought to be interested.

The 19-capped Welsh international began his career at the Hawthorns in 2013 and remained with the Baggies until January 2018 when he joined Leeds United. He failed to make any notable appearances with the Midlands club but did enjoy spells on loan at Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town, and Walsall. After completing a £2.5million move to Elland Road the forward was part of their 2019-20 promotion campaign to the Premier League and, has earned over 100 appearances for the Whites to date.

It will remain to be seen if this move will come to fruition, or whether he will make the move to Bramall Lane, but it is clear that United require extra firepower if they are to achieve promotion next season.
