Italian giants AC Milan and French club Lille are both sniffing around Blades target Anel Ahmedhodzic, according to YorkshireLive. United have a £3M bid in place [The Sun], though facing competition from other clubs around Europe, AC Milan and Lille have not yet submitted any formal offer.

United are still waiting on a situation update from Bordeaux, where Ahmedhodzic spent the second half of last season on loan.

The French club has a first-to-buy option for the centre-back which is due to expire today, according to The Star. The same report also suggests United have had their £3M bid ‘provisionally accepted’ by Swedish club Malmo.

As per earlier reports from YorkshireLive, Blades coaching staff member Jack Lester is said to be a key part of the negotiations. With Jack Lester previously managing the Bosnian during their stints in the Nottingham Forest academy together.

All United can do now is wait for the green light to move forward with this deal. Whilst they’ll also be hoping that AC Milan and Lille don’t put forward any formal offer, during this waiting period.
