Kevin Blackwell is set to join the rest of us next month by raiding the January sales in the hope of boosting his squad as the push for the play-offs continues.

The Blades, who currently have eight loanees in the squad, will see what is already a relatively small squad, trimmed further next month, as players return to their parent clubs.

Therefore, the Blades manager will be looking elsewhere to bolster his squad, and the Star believes Hull City could be a potential goldmine in finding this talent.

United have already been linked with winger Peter Halmosi, and despite interest from Coventry City and Ipswich Town Bramall Lane is a possible destination for the Plymouth man.

A 6 month loan is expected to be signed, to cover the Blades until Paddy Kenny’s return in the summer, but with his recent form, it could be an extension for Mark Bunn.

Richard Cresswell’s signing will be made permanent, but Blackwell could pursue another striker as it appears Billy Sharp’s time at Bramall Lane is over despite his fine goalscoring form for rivals Doncaster Rovers.
