Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has told Championship rivals to beware, as the Blades enter the January transfer window ‘with a confidence about us!’

‘In the end we had to be dogged as well as play some good football, but it was a very professional performance. We have a confidence about us, we are over the bad run, and with the transfer window about to open we are building momentum.’

Speaking of the draw at Loftus Road yesterday, Blackwell was impressed with his side, but complimented Paul Hart’s new side on their determination.

‘After that we took the game to them for the rest of the first half and looked good value to go on and perhaps get another – Mark Bunn had very little to do throughout the game.

‘We were very well organised and dangerous on the break, but to be fair to Rangers they came back at us late in the game and a draw was probably a fair result.

Three changes were made to the side, with Lee Williamson (torn hamstring), Ched Evans (ear infection) and Andy Taylor (illness) all missing out.

‘I have to give the players credit yet again for coping with the changes. I don’t expect Williamson to be available again until the New Year but Taylor and Evans should be okay by next week.’
