Coventry City have approached former Blades boss Kevin Blackwell with regards to taking temporary charge at the Ricoh Arena.
Blackwell is thought to be the board’s choice to lead the Sky Blue until the end of the season, as they look to consolidate their place in the nPower Championship.
City parted ways with boss Aidy Boothroyd last week, as the club began a slide down the league, but it’s thought Blackwell could have the desired effect until the end of the season.
Following spells with United, Luton Town and Leeds, Blackwell is familiar with working on a tight budget and would be required to if he joined the midlands club, who hope he will have a similar effect to what he did when he took over from Bryan Robson in 2008.
