Baxter’s Slight Disappointment

Jose Baxter showed Plymouth Argyle Rueben Reid how it’s done as he successfully converted two penalties for Sheffield United in our three-nil win at the weekend, Reid has ballooned his effort over the bar!

His brace helped us on the way to the third round of the FA Cup, although he’s admitted that he’s been left a little disappointed that he wasn’t able to complete his hat-trick and collected the match ball, as he did have the chance to do something he’s never managed in professional football, with a hat-trick this season this one of his aims for it.

The main thing was though that we got through and he’ll not ‘cry over spilled milk.’

Baxter told the Yorkshire Post: ‘I am a bit disappointed, I have never had a hat-trick before.

‘That was one of my aims at the start of the season, to try and get a hat-trick ball.

‘I had my chance there, but I can’t cry over spilled milk now.’

With the place in round three comes the chance of a Premier League side, the former Everton youngster would be quite happy to draw Everton but also knows that we ‘would take anyone in the next round’ as we’ve proven before we’re not frightened of anyone!

Everton, or whoever, we’ll find out who it will be tonight when the draw takes place on BBC2 from 7pm, with ball no.60 the one we’re looking out for….
