Well, I don’t think we should be at all surprised.
After the season that we have had, I think the least we could have expected Chris Wilder to get was a nomination, now it’s just a case of whether or not he’ll go on to win the whole thing.
The Blades boss has found himself nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Season, just one of the many awards that are up for grabs after Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp took home the LMA gong a few weeks ago.
He faces some tough opposition if he’s going to win it though, with Brendan Rodgers, Frank Lampard and the aforementioned Klopp all in contention, but it’s not as if Wilder will go in as a total underdog in this situation given the amount of support he’s received from outsiders throughout the year.
And with Sheffield United fans able to vote on it, I’m sure that will come as a great boost to his chances as well, and by the sounds of it, it won’t just be Blades fans choosing him.
I support Liverpool but I hope this award goes to Chris Wilder
