Wilson Heads To Walsall

Sheffield United confirmed yesterday that defender James Wilson will spend 2017/18 out on loan with Walsall.

Having joined us as a free agent from Oldham Athletic last summer, he has now penned a season long loan deal with the League One side and he’ll be hoping for good game time across the season.

Speaking to the Official Site to confirm the move, manager Chris Wilder said of the deal.

‘We thank James for his contribution last year in what was a very competitive area of the pitch for us. This loan move will give him a chance to re-establish himself and get games under his belt.’

As we stormed to the League One title last season, Wilson made a total of ten appearances for the club across all competitions and he scored the winning goal in our first win of the campaign against Oxford United last August.
