Sheffield United’s 5-2 win over Rochdale was ‘closer than the scoreline suggests’ according to Danny Wilson.
On the face of it you see a result like that and think that The Blades dominated the game and won with ease?
Wilson would completely disagree with that though: ‘that was a closer game than the scoreline suggests. It was nip and tuck in the early part of the game. They scored and we got back into the game very quickly, which I think really helped, and we were clinical in front of goal on the night.
‘We played some terrific stuff at times, though that’s easier to do when you’re three or four goals up because it gets demoralising for the opposition.
‘Rochdale stuck at it very well in that sense and for large parts of the second half they played some great stuff. Unfortunately, from their point of view, those goals we scored left them with an uphill task.’
Comfortable win or not, closer than the scoreline suggests or not, the main and most important thing was that The Blades won again.
