Sheffield United have been hit hard by the news that Lee Williamson has been handed a four game ban.

The midfielder, who was sent off against former club Watford at the weekend is unavailable until a crucial survival game against Preston North End on April 16th. It’s Williamson’s second red-card of the season after receiving his marching orders in the defeat at Ipswich Town last month.

An appeal was lodged for the tackle on Llody Doyley, but the FA rejected it; however, boss Micky Adams did see one bright point.

“Lee is going to miss four games. The red card was not overturned but at least they (the FA) did not add an extra match.”
