Since his contract at Queens Park Rangers expired this summer, midfielder Andre Dozzell is in the search of a new football club. Being a free agent, the Blades have invited the midfielder on trial and he has impressed in three match he has played to date.

The 25-year-old joined QPR in June 2021 from Ipswich Town in an undisclosed fee.

Last season he was thwart in a relegation battle after joining Birmingham City on loan in January. A relegation battle which they lost. Dozzell scored once in ten league matches (against Blackburn Rovers on 13th February)

The son of former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Jason Dozzell, has joined the Blades in this summer’s pre-season program and has featured in three matches as United have (thus far) recorded a 100% record ahead of next Friday’s match at Huddersfield Town before the Championship season kick’s off at Preston North End on 9th August.

Dozzell played 45 minutes in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Rotherham United after replacing Ollie Arblaster. Previously, he played in victories at Chesterfield and at Harrogate Town.

Dozzell would provide good competition for the side and prove to be an excellent asset to Sheffield United, however, they could face competition from Birmingham City who, despite playing League One football next season, are likely to offer a starting place.
