Sheffield United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sheffield United in the four two victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend at Hillsborough was enough to earn them a place as manager of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Wilder was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A superb 4-2 Steel City derby victory for Sheffield United could have seen any number of players make the cut, so we`ve opted for Wilder for getting his team selection spot on. Despite several injuries, the Blades overcame their city rivals with star turns from Man of the Match David Brooks, and two-goal hero Leon Clarke. When pegged back, substitute Mark Duffy restored the lead, and the players went on to give their boss the perfect present just a day after turning 50.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Wilder for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Murphy (Bury), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Oliver Lancashire (Swindon Town), Tony McMahon (Bradford City), Jodi Jones (Coventry City), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United), Junior Morais (Peterborough United).

Manager – Chris Wilder (Sheffield United).
