Manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that Sheffield United have returned to Blackburn Rovers with a further improved offer for Darragh Lenihan.

Sky Sports reporting this morning that with three offers believed to have been rejected already for the player – the last being a reported £1.25million – that Wilder has confirmed we are doing business the right way and have left an offer with Blackburn whilst we look at other options.

‘There is a bid left in with them but there’s other players on our radar. We notified them and it was their right to either accept or decline the bid, and I don’t get precious about other people coming in for our players.’

Wilder went on to say that he certainly wouldn’t entertain thoughts of saying somebody had made a derisory offer for one of our players and that has been seen already in the press a few times so far this transfer window.

‘We come through the front door and we do it the right way, and it’s the same about our players. We won’t talk about derisory bids or whatever. It’s business and I think everybody understands that. I think sometimes you just get a little bit precious about it all.’

Whether this offer finds more traction with the relegation League One side remains to be seen, but the comment about other players being on our radar could imply our patience is now starting to wear thin on this particular deal.
