The football season right now is in somewhat of a pickle, with the club, players and supporters in uncertainty into the future of the current 2019/20 Premier League campaign. Although it seems highly certain that it will reconvene at some point over the next few months but whether supporters will be given a bird’s eye view or made to watch in the comfort of their own living room is still under scrutiny.

What does seem to be certain is that, at some point, the season will be concluded, and eventually clubs will need to look ahead to the 2020/21 season by means of recruiting new players!

There will be players who will leave the club, and these players will need to be replaced. It is also in the interest of the club, with potentially European football heading to Bramall Lane next season, to recruit stronger players.

Last summer, Sheffield United were linked with a move for their former player Che Adams, 23, then with Birmingham City. He eventually made a permanent move to Southampton for an undisclosed fee. However, Leeds All Over website has suggested that they might make a move for the former Lane star, and could table a bid in the region of £19million.

Adams was brought in from non-league Ilkeston in July 2014 by Nigel Clough. He had made his debut in a League Cup victory over Southampton in December 2014, coming on as a substitute. He made his name a few games later when he came off the substitutes bench once more and scored twice at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final. The game was drawn 2-2 but United lost 3-2 on aggregate.

He proved to be an inspirational player, but in August 2016 he expressed his desire to leave, where he joined Birmingham City in an undisclosed fee. He left after featuring 57 times for the Blades in the league, scoring 11 league goals. A move for Adams would no doubt delight fans and would fit into Chris Wilder’s style of playing. United should also throw their name into the hat and try and reign their former striker.
