The Blades have managed to remain at the top of the table despite not recording 3pts in their last three matches. United have a bit of company with Norwich City and QPR both sitting on 24pts, but United remain ahead due to goal difference.
Norwich City fumbled their chance to leapfrog United into 1st on Saturday after they lost 3-2 to Preston North End at Carrow Road. The Canaries have a tough October schedule; they travel to Watford, host Luton Town and then travel to Sheffield United all within a couple of weeks.
As United build-up to the Norwich City game, they play at Bramall Lane on Saturday against Blackpool, and then they have an away trip to Coventry City who currently sits at the bottom of the league table.
Queens Park Rangers have strung three wins together, with two of those wins coming against teams in the top six; against the Blades and against Reading last Friday night. They travel to Luton Town at the weekend and then face Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic in back-to-back home games.
It’s fair to say that United probably have the easiest game next up out of the three teams with 24pts. Paul Heckingbottom will have some key players back available for selection this Saturday; potentially with Anel Ahmedhodzic and Jayden Bogle, who were both out against Stoke at the weekend with injuries. The Blades will also get their in-form striker back, Oli McBurnie, after serving his one-match ban at the weekend.
