I’m not sure if I should be taking confidence from these comments or not.

I’m leaning more towards the latter, because it just goes to show how chaotic and poorly planned the whole thing has been during the past couple of weeks and months.

Speaking to The County Press on The Isle Of Wight, Blades goalkeeper Simon Moore and his brother Stuart, himself a goalkeeper at MK Dons spoke about the end of the football season, and Simon’s comments on the matter really spoke to the confusion of the entire situation, stating that even he as a player doesn’t know what the next turn in the saga is going to be:

“We could be back in two weeks, or back in two months — we just don’t know. We’re the same as the general public. I look on BBC Sport for updates. I want the season to get finished. It’s the way forward and the only fair way to do it. Time is of the essence though, because the longer it goes on, the more difficult it’s going to be to start next season. At the moment, lockdown remains, so in the football world, it changes day by day, and our training programmes change all the time.”

Now, do these comments fill you with confidence? Because they don’t to me.

Do you get confidence from Simon Moore's comments?

Yes

No

No

Whilst there has been plenty of talk from the Premier League regarding ‘Project Restart’, the whole thing seems to be very passive in its approach, and there are still fears from members of various playing squads that could put the whole thing in jeopardy.

I think once everything is put in stone, then things will slowly get better, but as Oliver Holt of The Mail On Sunday put it, that date when things are put in stone looks set to be pushed further and further down the line.

What about you? What do you make of Moore’s comments, and do you think that the whole ‘Project Restart’ has been handled well by the authorities?
