West Brom drop out of race for Tom Lawrence. West Brom have already snapped up two former targets of the Blades John Swift [The Star] and Jed Wallace [The Sun].

West Brom seem to be stacking up in the attacking area of the pitch, adding John Swift and Jed Wallace to the squad on free transfers. There were also reports of West Brom targeting Derby County’s Tom Lawrence [Daily Mail], but they have now dropped out of the race to sign him, according to the Express and Star.

Tom Lawrence notched 11 goals and 5 assists in 38 league games for the relegated Rams last season. Two of those goals came against Sheffield United when they visited Pride Park, and lost 2-0 following Lawrence’s excellent strikes.

As we know Sheffield United have already shown interest in an attacking player this summer, in Scott Twine, but failed to sign him after he completed a £4M move to Burnleyas reported by Pete O’Rourke on Twitter.

Does this now make Sheffield United the favourites to sign the Derby County captain?

With the challenge of West Brom now disappearing, Heckingbottom could finally get his first signing of the summer done over the next coming days.
