Blades boss Neil Warnock has paid tribute to our City rivals, for letting us have 3 of their players!

Alan Quinn and Leigh Bromby were snapped up by the Blades gaffer after Wednesday decided not to renew their contracts in the summer of 2004, and have been first-team regular ever since. Derek Geary was also released by the Hillsborough outfit and went on to sign for Stockport before Warnock stepped in to sign him, after a series of impressive displays.

‘We owe Wednesday for letting us have Quinn and Bromby. They were loyal to Wednesday but were released and have come here and done really well for us, so too with Derek Geary.’ Warnock told the Blades official website.

‘We’ve got them playing how we like and they are one of the reasons why we are doing so well. ‘To be honest, I’m not one of those Unitedites that wants to see Wednesday relegated. I’d like to see them stay up but never have to play them again!’

I’m sure you want them relegated really Neil!
