Blades gaffer Neil Warnock will be forced to step up his striker search after Danny Webber picked up a hamstring injury during Saturday’s draw at Ipswich Town.

Webber, who rescued a point for the Blades when he scored 13 minutes from time at Portman Road, was later forced to depart from the action after suffering a problem whilst stretching to control a cross-field ball.

Warnock has already had bids turned down of £1.5M for Wolves’ Kenny Miller and a £2M for Cardiff’s Cameron Jerome, and will now be hoping to secure the signature of a target very shortly.

The Blades boss has recently stated to the media that United have lodged four bids for players and are awaiting responses from the respective clubs.

News regarding the extent of Danny Webber’s injury is expected to be released from the club sometime this week.
