Sheffield United look set to lose Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn, who have agreed a deal with Derby County. United will naturally move onto another target with Daily Mirror’s Mike Keegan believing that the Blades will make a move for Millwall’s Lee Gregory.
The Waghorn saga had been going on for the last few weeks with United tabling a £5million bid for the former Rangers striker but his current club Ipswich Town didn’t wish to budge below a £7.5million figure. Derby County look set to folk out the cash and bring him to Pride Park, as reported in the Derbyshire Times.
Blades boss Chris Wilder must now move on and look for further targets to bolster his attack. Currently the chief only has Leon Clarke, David McGoldrick, Billy Sharp and transfer listed Caolan Lavery at his disposal and if the S2 club are ambitions in reaching the top six this season then this area is where it needs strengthening the most.
Daily Mirror reporter Mike Keegan tweeted earlier today that the Blades may make a move for their former striker Lee Gregory from fellow Championship rivals Millwall.
Believe Sheffield United are keen on Millwall’s Lee Gregory. One to keep an eye on. Former Blades academy and Sheffield lad.

Gregory, 29 has been a former target for the Blades during Chris Wilder’s tenure. The Sheffield born striker was part of the Blades Academy until moving into non-league in 2008 and failed to break into the first team.
Vital View;
As previously stated in an earlier article, we aren’t a big fan of Waghorn and his abilities and believed that United could find better. In Gregory we believe that Wilder would bring out the best in him and would forge a stronger union in attack with the current crop of attackers at the Lane. That’s what we think, but would you be happy with Gregory joining United?
