The League 1 season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Victory for Sheffield United and a defeat for Scunthorpe saw them swap places with the Blades going top. Coventry are being cut adrift with Chesterfield, Bury and Oldham making up the relegation zone.

Sunday 5th February 2017 – LEAGUE ONE
Swindon Town 1-2 Oxford United 12:00
Sheffield United put a three game winless run behind them in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 win at Bramall Lane against Wimbledon also moving them back to the top of the table after Scunthorpe were beaten.
Bradford had to be content with a 2-2 draw against Gillingham – who haven’t won in seven with the last four drawn – at Valley Parade.
The Charlton unbeaten run was extended to six games with the run of results continuing in familiar fashion. But only when the Addicks were denied a victory by an added time equaliser by Fleetwood. The Cod Army’s own promotion bid remains on track as they avoided a first defeat in 10.
Chesterfield’s first defeat in three keeps them embroiled in the relegation battle. Oldham’s own survival bid was boosted when the Latics won 1-0 at the Proact Stadium to move them to within a point of safety, albeit with the side above them – Swindon – not playing until the Sunday so they had the chance to respond.
Coventry’s fourth straight defeat – and eighth in the last 10 played – kept them bottom of the league and cut adrift. Millwall are now eight unbeaten but this 2-0 win over the Sky Blues was a first victory in five – after four successive draws – taking the Lions to within two points of the play-offs.
The impressive form shown by MK Dons recently continued with a 1-1 draw with Bolton making it three wins in a five game unbeaten run. The Trotters’ own form – as the automatic promotion bid was hampered again – has seen them fail to win any of the last four with the gap between them and the automatic promotion spots growing.
Port Vale have now suffered back-to-back defeats leaving them just four points clear of trouble. Peterborough’s own form of late has been shaky but this 3-0 win at Vale Park moved them to within two points of a play-off place once more.
A run of defeats was ended but Rochdale’s 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers – who are three off the top 6 – saw Dale’s winless run extended to three as they dropped out of the play-off places.
Shrewsbury’s bid to avoid relegation saw them record a third win in a five game unbeaten run when the Shrews won 2-1 against Bury. Defeat for the Shakers at Greenhous Meadow kept them in the relegation zone as they dropped to 22nd below Oldham.
Having lost just once in the last 10 games Southend’s 3-1 win at Roots Hall against league leaders Scunthorpe took the Shrimpers into a play-off place. This defeat saw the Irons lose top spot to Sheffield United.
Walsall’s third win in five – all unbeaten – came when the Saddlers beat Northampton 2-1 to close to within four points of a potential play-off place. The Cobblers ended a five game losing run recently but this loss made it six in seven, in fact seven in the last 10 played.
The chance to move clear of the relegation zone was missed by Swindon when they lost for a third successive game keeping the Robins just a point ahead of the bottom 4. Oxford made it back-to-back victories with this 2-1 win at the County Ground.
