The League 1 season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Sheffield United’s lead was cut after another Bolton win, these two are clear in automatic promotion. Coventry, Chesterfield, Swindon and Port Vale hold the unwanted relegation spots.

Swindon’s survival hopes were boosted by an added time winner against Millwall. This 1-0 victory closed the gap between the Robins and safety to four points, but it saw the Lions’ 16 game unbeaten run came to an end.
AFC Wimbledon suffered a first defeat in three against play off chasing Southend. The Shrimpers recorded a 2-0 win at Kingsmeadow – a third in a row – to open up a three point gap on their nearest rivals for a top six finish.
The Bury bid for survival moved a step closer as the Shakers moved four point clear of the relegation zone with a 0-0 draw – a third tie in four – with Fleetwood at Gigg Lane. A second successive goalless draw means the Cod Army have dropped six points behind Bolton, who hold the second automatic promotion spot.
Chesterfield – who finished with 10 men after an added time sending off – are now just a point ahead of basement side Coventry and some 10 points from safety. Rochdale’s 3-1 win at Spotland has probably condemned the Spireites to relegation but has also brought Dale back into potential play off contention.
Back-to-back victories were secured by Coventry for the first time in five months. However, the Sky Blues remain bottom of the table – and 11 points from safety – despite this 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers. Defeat for the Pirates was a major blow to their play off bid with the gap now extended to six points.
Gillingham’s third successive defeat means the Gills are now just two points above the relegation zone. Peterborough’s 1-0 win at Priestfield – thanks to a 90th minute winner – was a first in six but has almost certainly come too late to revive a play off push.
Northampton had to be content with a 0-0 draw against Oxford after the Cobblers saw a penalty saved at Sixfields.
Having drawn for a third time in four games Oldham moved three points clear of the bottom four. The Latics had been ahead at the break but Sheffield United levelled to leave Boundary Park with a 1-1 draw and extend the uneaten run to 10, but the lead over Bolton is now down to four points.
Port Vale remain in the relegation zone but a 0-0 draw with MK Dons at Vale Park means Vale – who would have targeted all three points as the home side – are just a point away from safety.
A couple of goals in the second half condemned Shrewsbury to a 2-0 defeat against promotion chasing Bolton Wanderers, who consolidated second place and closed the gap on leaders Sheffield United to four points. The Shrews remain a place above the bottom four but the gap is now down to a point with the winless run extended to four.
