The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.

On Friday, in one of two games, Cardiff kept their automatic promotion bid very much on track with victory over Norwich.

Sheffield United slipped below Bristol City – further away from second placed Cardiff – when suffering defeat at Millwall, whereas the Robins beat Middlesbrough in the late kick off on Saturday to move up to third.

Defeat means Sunderland remain second bottom in the Championship; they lost at the Stadium of Light against Reading. The Black Cats are above only Burton, who lost at Derby as Bolton moved out of the relegation zone with a victory over Barnsley.

However, Birmingham could move out of trouble once more on Monday if they get a result at Wolves.

Here’s a round up of the Championship results with one game to take place.
