West Bromwich Albion will be looking for their third win of the Premier League campaign when they travel to Bramall Lane this evening. With both sides struggling at the foot of the table, with the Baggies holding a slight advantage, another relegation six-pointer could be on the cards.

Like Sheffield United, West Brom also faced Manchester City recently. They hosted Pep Guardiola’s side on 26th January and were given something of a football lesson as they beat the Baggies by five goals to nil. The result put City top of the Premier League whilst keeping the Midlands side firmly in the bottom three.

They had an opportunity to reduce some daylight when they faced Fulham last Saturday, who was also in the relegation zone. Typically, they drew 2-2, leaving the two clubs in the bottom three and West Brom four points better off than rock bottom Sheffield United.

When the two sides met earlier in the season at The Hawthorns, on 28th November, the Baggies came out 1-0 winners in what was dubbed as a relegation six-pointer. Same could be said for this fixture at Bramall Lane tonight. At the time, neither side had won a Premier League match until Conor Gallagher struck after 13 minutes. Typically, United squandered a glorious opportunity to level the game in the second half when Ly Mousset spooned his six-yard opportunity over the bar.

Since claiming victory over the Blades, the Midlands side has struggled to gain points on the board. Before last Saturday they have won just one more match, and following a sock 1-1 draw with Manchester City on 15th December, they spectacularly dismissed manager Slaven Bilic before appointing relegation warrior Sam Allardyce.

The visitors have no injury concerns with duo Robert Snodgrass (knee), and Grady Diangana (thigh), both expected to have returned either against Fulham or against the Blades. However, Allardyce could include former Sheffield United trio, defender Kyle Bartley, and forwards Matt Phillips and Callum Robinson in the squad to face their former club.
