Sheffield United wingback duo is close to regaining fitness as they both returned to training on Monday morning.

Max Lowe and Jayden Bogle, the two players that arrived as a duo in a package deal, worth £15M according to Sky Sports, from Derby County in 2020. The pair have already shown their ability in a Blades shirt, but the former has only recently become a fan favourite.

Lowe was sent on a season-long loan move to Nottingham Forest last season by Slavisa Jokanovic. The 25-year-old made 20 appearances for the side that eventually got promoted via the playoffs last campaign. The left-wingback was a key player for Steve Cooper’s side before suffering a hamstring injury which saw him miss the final few months of the season, but he did appear in the play-off final.

After a summer of speculation linking Lowe away from Bramall Lane, he looked good in pre-season and Paul Heckingbottom wanted to keep him in and around his starting eleven.

Despite starting slowly, Max Lowe picked up his form from where he left Forest, and in 6 starts for United, he registered a goal and an assist before his unfortunate injury in the Hull City game.

But Stuart McCall today revealed on SUTV that Lowe is back training:

“Good to see Lowey, he’s upped it [training]. He joined in with us this morning. Another positive getting him back in the fold with the lads.”

Bogle has been a feature of United’s side since George Baldock suffered an injury last campaign. The 22-year-old became a fan-favourite because of his technical skills and threat in the final third, as well as his brilliant one-vs-one defensive ability.

The right-wingback scored three goals last season and registered an assist, whilst maintaining good attacking and defensive statistics. But Bogle would undergo knee surgery which saw him miss the final few months of the season.

After a long recovery process, Jayden Bogle returned to action at the start of October. However, more knee scares became apparent, so Bogle would then go back under the knife to make sure no further complications would emerge.

But today McCall stated that Bogle, like Lowe, will be in contention for returns after the world cup break.

“Jayden’s out on the grass running as well. Them two guys we’ll be looking after the break.” [SUTV]
