Paul Heckingbottom’s Blades climb to fourth after their latest victory ahead of the next round of fixtures in midweek.

United take on inconsistent performers Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night as they look to follow up on their recent triumph over West Bromwich Albion from last weekend.

Following up from this week’s midweek round of fixtures, the Blades host Burnley on Saturday who are currently the team that United have their eyes on with the Clarets at the top of the league.

A win over Bristol City on Tuesday night would make the clash with Burnley, at Bramall Lane, all that more mouthwatering. United as of now are 6pts behind the Clarets, and depending on the midweek games, this coming Saturday could see the Blades head back to the summit of the Championship with a victory over the Clarets.

As the 2022 World Cup nears its kick-off, United have two more Championship games to play after the Burnley fixture. Heckingbottom’s side host a South Yorkshire derby when United welcome Rotherham United to Bramall Lane on the 8th of November.

Then in their final match before heading off into the World Cup break, Sheffield United take an international journey themselves as they face Cardiff City on the 12th of November.

Can the Blades mount another good run of form before the World Cup break?
