On loan Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has stated that he wants to stay at Bramall Lane after more than playing his part in our fantastic automatic Championship promotion success with everyone now relishing a return to the top flight for the first time in 12 years.

We’ll see what happens and whether we can make a late surge towards the title, but the main aim for the year has been achieved ahead of time, and the 22-year-old stopper has more than played his part in that, keeping 20 clean sheets for manager Chris Wilder in his 44 appearances so far this campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports this week with everyone still celebrating the weekend’s confirmation, the England Under 21 talent said that he would happily turn his loan spell into a permanent deal now if agreement could be struck between both sides.

“For me personally I was really emotional and I’ve told the gaffer ‘listen, don’t let me leave’. But obviously it comes down to the two clubs to agree on money and stuff, so I’ll be itching at the bit to come back here next season.”

It’ll be another boost for Blades fans given the season he has had and it’s not unfair to say that naturally given his age, there’s still plenty of improvements he can make to his game, so we’ll have to see what tempts United into selling.
