Sheffield United saw their seven game unbeaten run come to a shattering halt as Stevenage beat them 4-0 at Broadhall Way.

United had also kept six clean sheets in a row but Stevenage striker Dani Lopez ensured the blades would not equal a club record with a seventh in a row.

Lopez only returned to the club in midweek from his loan spell at Barnet after injuries and suspensions left Stevenage short.

The Spanish striker scored a hat trick for Barnet last Saturday and he completed a rare double with a twenty-three minute treble either side of half time.

Lopez opened the scoring on 41 minutes when he held off the tackle of Neil Collins to fire past George Long, the first goal he had conceded in 583 minutes.

He doubled the lead early in the second half when he got in behind the United defence and he completed his hat trick with a superb strike from the edge of the area.

Lukas Akins completed the scoring when he cut in from the left to fire past Long.

The defeat for United sees them drop out of the automatic promotion places into third place.
