The Blades are looking at another loan signing from Premier League champions Manchester City. According to Alan Nixon, Sheffield United are one of many clubs that are in the race for James McAtee.

The 19 year-old attacking midfielder scored 18 goals in 23 games for Manchester City U23’s last season. He made 6 appearances off the bench for the senior team last season across all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.

A few Championship clubs are competing for the talented youngsters signature. It is thought that Swansea and Huddersfield are interested in McAtee. With Sheffield United already signing Tommy Doyle on loan for the season, could McAtee follow in his footsteps?

Doyle has unfortunately suffered a thigh injury which has stopped him from playing in any of the Blades pre-season games. But Doyle has already experienced the mood and atmosphere of the squad, as well as the coaching style, so maybe Doyle could play a part in helping United secure James McAtee’s signature.
