Sheffield United finished the regular season with a 0-0 draw against Preston North End at Bramall Lane.

With United already guaranteed a play-off place, caretaker manager Chris Morgan again made changes to his side with youngster Joe Ironside making his first start for the club.

I a dour end of season game with Preston also having nothing to play for goalscoring opportunities were at a premium.

Callum McFadzean had the best chance for United but the legs of Preston keeper Rudd blocked his effort and Chris Porter had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for handball.

Lee Holmes came closest for the visitors but his effort skimmed the top of the crossbar.

United now prepare for the play-offs against Yeovil Town with the first leg at Bramall Lane on Friday May 3rd (7.45pm).
