Highly rated youngster Ben Woodburn’s spell at Bramall Lane hasn’t really been a success either for the player nor Sheffield United and it’s now being reported that Liverpool either will, or are seriously considering, recalling the Welsh international when the January transfer window reopens.

It’s not a great surprise really, the 19-year-old was reportedly much sought after in the summer transfer window and with a host of Championship clubs linked we won out. He has only made two starting appearances for manager Chris Wilder, and even then, only an additional six substitute showings.

Whilst he hasn’t overly impressed many, it would also be fair to say he hasn’t done much wrong for a youngster learning his trade but our form and the fact we sit only three points from the top of the table going into this weekend’s tie with Rotherham United, it’s all counted against him unfortunately.

The recall report comes from Goal originally I believe and it’s not substantiated, but entirely believable for me.

Certainly won’t be a massive loss either in the opinion of others from those reactions on social media.
