Sheffield United continue to be guilty of missed chances as they went down to their latest defeat at home to MK Dons.

MK Dons left Bramall Lane with all three points thanks to a late goal by Antony Kay but United were once again left to rue missed chances.

Debutant Jose Baxter and Tony McMahon both had chances to score for United but it was Lyle Taylor and Febian Brandy, who were both guilty of missing great chances for the home side.

Taylor failed to work the goalkeeper when he got in behind the Dons defence and Brandy missed an open goal from eight yards.

Brandy, who had only come off the bench on 63 minutes, then saw his afternoon compounded when he was shown a straight red card for a poor tackle on Lee Hodson.

United are just one point above the relegation zone after a poor start to the season that has seen them pick up just four points from five games and crash out of the Capital One League Cup to lower league opposition.
