Nathan Thomas looks as if he’ll soon become Sheffield United’s third signing since the League One title was confirmed, according to Sky Sports.

Ched Evans’ return to United is the only signing officially confirmed but the Blades have been linked with Portsmouth left back Enda Stevens. A bid for Hartlepool’s Nathan Thomas was reported recently.

Thomas, who had been linked with Fulham and Middlesbrough, in fact relegated Premier League side Boro are reported to have agreed a £300,000 fee, had impressed during Hartlepool’s season, which resulted in them dropping out of the Football League.

Sky sources claimed Thomas, 22, was heading to Bramall Lane for a medical over the weekend having already agreed personal terms with the former Mansfield winger after a fee was also agreed with Hartlepool – he scored nine goals in 34 appearances for Pools this season.
