Rotherham United will be boosted by the return of full-back Cohen Bramall for the South Yorkshire clash with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane tonight.

The left full-back will be made available for selection in tonight’s match after serving a one-match suspension following his dismissal for two yellow cards in their recent (unfortunate) 3-2 defeat at Burnley last week.

Despite the return of Bramall, it is feared that the Millers may struggle to field a first-team squad and may rely on youngsters to make up the seventeen-man squad in S2. They are expected to be without striker Georgie Kelly (hamstring), whilst former Blade Conor Washington and Grant Hall are suffering calf strains.

It is reported that they may have up to seven players absent with 37-year-old Richard Wood (hamstring), potentially, side-lined, whilst trio; Jamie McCart, Shane Ferguson and Tolaji Bola, are also expected to be unavailable through injury.

The Millers lay seventeenth in the Championship table and two points ahead of the bottom three relegation places. However, they come into this fixture with one league victory in their last six outings and have recorded three consecutive losses. Defeats at Cardiff City (0-1), and Burnley (2-3), was followed up by a 2-1 defeat at home to Norwich City last Saturday.

Since the initial fixture, the Millers have changed managers after losing Paul Warne to Derby County on 22nd September, the South Yorkshire club was quick to respond with the appointment of Matt Taylor from Exeter City eleven days later.

They have recruited well this summer, having brought in eight permanent signatures and three loan signings, whom they hope will be enough to retain their Championship status come May. In May 2022, the Millers completed the deal of former Sheffield United striker Conor Washington from Charlton Athletic on a two-year contract, The Northern Ireland international was signed for the 2018-19 season from Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer and was part of the squad which helped the Blades win promotion to the Premier League where he played 16 times and, despite his best efforts, failed to find the back of the net.
