With the appointment of a new manager, Sheffield United have also announced a new look board ahead of the coming 2016/17 season.

With plans for the new campaign continuing, and hopes of finally achieving promotion this year into the Championship, the club have today released a short statement on the official site confirming the make up of the new board going into the new football year.

‘Co-owners Kevin McCabe and Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have put together a team of directors for the Club featuring Simon McCabe, Scott McCabe, Stephen Bettis (the Blades` new Managing Director), Tareq Hawasli, Selahattin Baki and Sheffield city region businessman Martin Green.’

The statement goes on to say that the new ‘streamlined’ board is a reflects of our co-owners’ desire to have key representatives involved in the day to day running, so all aspects of the club can be kept on top of moving forward – and with such a make up, quick decisions can be quickly made without going through lines of communications when not overly necessary.

Managing Director Mr Bettis explained.

‘The new-look board mirrors a re-focusing by the club and its co-owners. We look forward to working closely with our new team manager, Chris Wilder, as he re-builds the playing side, and supporting our off-the-field executives in the development of the business.’

With plenty of change, fans will be hoping that change results in a return to the Championship at this time of asking – or at the very least getting a step closer than last season.
