Tranmere Rovers have this morning confirmed that defender Harrison McGahey has been recalled by Sheffield United.

A couple of days back, given the injury situation we face at the moment, manager Nigel Clough confirmed the recall clause we had in his remainder of the season long loan spell at Prenton Park and suggested that when the 28 day clause kicked in we would enact it and bring him back.

‘There’s a chance we’re going to bring Harrison back as defensive cover. I think we can do after Saturday. That’s when his 28 days is up and we’re probably going to do that this week.’

The 19 year old made 22 appearances for us in the first half of the season and since being loaned in by Micky Adams, he has gone on to feature four times for Tranmere since arriving there in mid February.

His last appearance for them came at the beginning of March.

Sheffield United are yet to confirm the recall, but Tranmere have announced his departure.
