Lots of Blades fans have been reacting to the display against Reading in the F.A Cup

Well, we certainly made hard work of that didn’t we? I think Richard Sutcliffe put it best just before extra time when he said that the Blades were a ‘pale shadow of themselves’.

The Blades just about managed to scrape their way past Reading and made it through the quarter-final of the competition for the first time since 2013-14 when they went on to reach the semi-final, only to lose to Hull City.

As the stats from the game show, from WhoScored, Chris Wilder’s side dominated the game in terms of possession and shots, but couldn’t put the Royals away in normal time, relying on Billy Sharp to spare their blushes with the winner in extra time.

Is Billy Sharp our most important player?

Yes

Yes

No

So how did the Blades fans feel when the result came in? Well, I think it was more a sense of relief than anything that the team managed to get the job done.

Let’s just hope we don’t carry this sort of display into the league campaign.

Not surprising to get that reaction from football fans. The game is gone past getting 3 points and victories. The manner at which the victory is earned is as important.
