Back and better than ever.

That seems to be the message that Blades midfielder Sander Berge wanted to get across as he reflects on the break in football that has come as a result of the Coronavirus.

Speaking to NTB via Dagbladet, Berge said that his brief taste of Premier League football having signed from Genk before the season ground to a halt, has given him a little bit of an insight into what’s required to play in the division. And now that he has a little bit of a break to work on getting himself more adapted to it, he should be able to hit the ground running when he comes back:

“For me, it is easy to motivate yourself in the future, regardless of the tedious pause now. Now I have experienced what is required in the Premier League, so I will take it with me and build on it so I get even better. This is a great opportunity to get even better trained and lay a good foundation.”

How many goals will Berge score for us this season?

Less than 3

Less than 3

3 or more

3 or more

Which I think is a great attitude to have and shows that he has really bought into the humble ethos that Chris Wilder has created around Bramall Lane.

The fact that he’s using this lockdown as a way to not just simply keep fit, but become better as he adapts to the league is really impressive to see. It’s well known that there are some players who simply struggle to fit into the Premier League, so the fact that he’s determined not to become a statistic in that sense should serve him incredibly well.

And whilst he hasn’t managed to make that big an impact in terms of numbers just yet, hopefully this little regime that he is on will be just what he needs to take his Sheffield United career to the next level and help us claim that European place.

Then he’ll be able to take his career to yet another level as he struts his stuff on the continent once again.
