Not only did Sheffield United slip to yet another home defeat today, they once again failed to score, for the eighth time in fifteen games this season, and Blades boss Gary Speed believes it’s his job to sort it out.

Boss Speed said of the game today:

i>’I know we hit the woodwork three times and might have had a penalty award near the end but it is too easy to keep saying that we are unlucky or blaming officials.

‘It keeps happening so there must be something wrong on the pitch and it is my job as manager to sort it out – it is a challenge I am looking forward to solving.

The Blades have been without combative frontman Darius Henderson all season, and as much as he splits opinion, he could be one of the ingredients currently lacking.

A lack of movement has been mentioned, but you can count on one hand this season the number of times a striker has attacked the ball in the area – even Richard Cresswell’s two poached goals have come from the far post.

With Mark Yeates and Jamie Ward in the side providing crosses, and for the short-term, Andy Reid providing the ammunition, movement in the area is a must.
