Plenty of Blades fans have been singing the praises of one particular individual after his display against Reading last night.
Ben Osborn put in an excellent all-round performance that helped Chris Wilder’s men see off the Royals and book their place in the F.A Cup quarter finals.
Having been relatively starved of minutes this season, he needs to make the most of his opportunities when they’re presented to him, and he did exactly that last night. Not only did he provide a great assist for David McGoldrick for the opener, but he also put in five tackles, completed 86% of his passes, and earned a rating of 8.1 overall, all from WhoScored.
Will Osborn be seen more in the first-team next season?
Yes
No
And that display didn’t go unnoticed by the Bramall Lane faithful as they showered him with praise both during and following the game.
Osborn is the smart Roberto Carlos

Big, big fan of Ben Osborn. It's a shame he's after Stevens' position. #SUFC #TwitterBlades

For me, No issues with Osborn starting Saturday is Enda isn’t 100%. Is Fleck injured or was he rested? Commentator said injured. If that’s the case, Freeman has to start Saturday. Both of them excellent tonight. Didzy and Sharp leading the line for me too. #SUFC #twitterblades

Osborn was absolutely class tonight. Stand out player by far in what was a mediocre performance. BUT! Only one game away from a day at Wembley. #sufc #twitterblades ⚔️

Now whether or not he’ll be able to turn this display into a run of consistent performances in the first team, we’ll just have to wait and find out.
Well he has given CW a selection headache, same with Freeman but how can you not select Stevens or Fleck? They both were excellent last night and to put them back on the bench on Saturday would be cruel but you can say the same about Stevens and Fleck both these guys have been superb this season. Not a decision I would like to make someone is going to be disappointed .It would be a lot easier to replace others who played last night but they are not the positions Osborn or Freeman are accustom to.
