Sheffield United enter the South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United in fine form winning three straight games. On Tuesday night they’ll look to extend that to four, under the lights at Bramall Lane.

The Blades put five past Burnley, on Saturday, who sit at the top of the league. Though United’s victory over the Clarets cut the gap to just 3pts, with Paul Heckingbottom’s men boasting a slightly better goal difference.

Rotherham United enter Tuesday night’s match in dire form picking up 1pt in their last five matches – conceding twelve goals in the process. To make matters worse, they have been poor away from home all season – winning once in nine away games so far.

Incidentally, the Millers’ last away match was against Burnley where they were leading 2-1 with ten men going into stoppage time, but two late goals from Burnley saw them fall to defeat.

You have to go back to 2013 to find the last victory for Rotherham United in this South Yorkshire derby. The Millers have won only eight times against the Blades in 38 games.

As we look forward to the South Yorkshire derby on Tuesday night, I gathered the thoughts of Rotherham United supporters on one of their forums:

It’s a sell-out from us

They’ll be wanting that top spot

We have injuries left right and centre

Footballs a funny old game so expect a draw at least, we won’t get hammered.

Hopefully we get something we don’t deserve out of this game for a change ..!.

Free hit Tuesday night, nothing to lose. Very few expecting a point let alone a win.

Sooner end of Luton game comes the better.

My prediction 2-1 Blades win but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if it’s a 1-1 draw.
