I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say that Hulse’s terrible injury last term went a long way to costing us our Premiership place. His goals and all round centre forward play were one of the highlights of last term.
When he returns to full fitness Bryan Robson will be faced with a dilemma about who to select up front. I just hope he isn’t thinking about playing Hulse at right back as he once did at West Brom! Perhaps Jon Stead’s role as an attacking midfielder in last night’s reserve game against York gives us a clue as to Robson’s thinking for the future?
