Olly writes his latest ahead of tomorrow evening’s Cup clash against Hull City.

We entertain Hull City at BDTBL tomorrow evening in the EFL Cup match. I’ve just won two tickets to that game so am looking forward to an unexpected mid-week visit back to the Lane. The only bad point being that the Kop isn’t open so will have to slum it on the South stand haha.

I am wondering whether we’ll go for the Cup big time this season, bearing in mind our first two games were losses and we managed to grab an away win at QPR. We seem to have been struggling with team selection for the first two, but the QPR game saw the introduction in Sharp, Stearman and Duffy in the starting eleven. Putting these in certainly put a more attacking stance to our play, and although we’ve now lost Lee Evans, we’ve just confirmed the signing of Oliver Norwood from Brighton, so will he get an introduction to the Bramall Lane faithful?

Personally, I wouldn’t mind concentrating on the League progression this season and use the emerging talent we have in the youth system to try out during Cup matches, especially when we’re up against League rivals, such as Hull City. Maybe this would be a good platform to test our new youngsters and see how they fair against Championship teams.

Anyway, I’ll be on the South stand and getting behind the team whatever the line-up may be. I know we will only have a couple of stands open but I’m sure that we can drown out the visiting supporters and show them how to get behind a team!

UTB!!
