The anticipated departure from Sheffield United of Lyle Taylor, as strongly rumoured over the weekend, has been confirmed with him signing for Scunthorpe United today.
An undisclosed fee has taken the 24-year-old striker to the Blades’ league 1 rivals Scunthorpe just a year after arriving from Falkirk, but struggling to get game time under Nigel Clough, who let him end the season with Partick Thistle on loan.
Something things done ‘quite work out’ for a player and Nigel Clough feels this was the case with Taylor and Sheffield United.
He told the official website: ‘It didn’t quite work out for Lyle at Bramall Lane but he heads to Scunthorpe with our best wishes.’
